The university hopes to attract talented staff, to teach and inspire learners to advance the realm of knowledge by cultivating their faculty of academic enquiry, creative scholarships, research discovery and the application of knowledge to the transformation of the individual and society.
The Philosophy underlying the academic programme of Civil Engineering at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti is to produce a God fearing, and steady flow of Civil Engineering graduates through the development of a vigorous modern tradition. The department intends to equip students with the specialized knowledge of Civil Engineering, so that they can contribute meaningfully to the Nigerian, African and World Engineering issues. The programme of study is designed not only to meet the intellectual demands and techniques in the field of engineering, together with a broad knowledge of Pure and Applied Sciences but, to enable them make meaningful contributions to our people in moving away from poverty and ignorance in a way that will engender self-reliance.
Engineering is the art of modelling materials we do not wholly understand, into shapes we cannot precisely analyse so as to withstand forces we cannot properly assess, in such a way that the public has no reason to suspect the extent of our ignorance.

UTME: subjects; Mathematics, English Language, Physics and Chemistry Candidates are also required to have an acceptable pass in UTME
O’ Level: Five credit passes in English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any other Science subjects at not more than two sittings at Senior Secondary School Examination. It is also desirable for candidates to have credit passes at Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing at Credit. Such requirements shall have added advantage
Candidates shall possess in addition for the minimum requirements in (a) above, credit passes in mathematics Physics and Chemistry at GCE ‘A level or equivalent. Holders of OND and HND at minimum of upper credit level are eligible for consideration for admission into 200 and 300 levels respectively.
Candidates shall possess in addition to the minimum requirement in (b)(i) above, merit passes in Building/ Woodwork, Metal/Automobile, Mechanical and Technical Drawing at NCE level.
To graduate from the 5-years Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree, students must have successfully completed a minimum of 184 credit units.
